In the occasion of the OIE Conference on Veterinary Education which took place in Foz do Iguazu, Brazil , the WVA organized a meeting with South American National Veterinary Associations.

The reason for the meeting was to present the WVA and to inform the South American Veterinary Associations about the WVA activities, projects and initiatives at global veterinary level. The WVA met representatives from Costa Rica, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Uruguay, Peru, Cuba and PANVET (Panamerican Association of Veterinary Sciences).  WVA encouraged Veterinary Associations from the South America Region to join the WVA family and to play a role at the Global Veterinary Arena.
